Seymareh  Dam and Power Plant

 General information &History :

 

The initial reconnaissance studies wore started in 1993 and completed in 1375

The construction operations commenced with the construction of the diversion tunnels in 1997 ,water diversion operations in July 2003 , and body construction , excavation of spillways and plant site building which are now in procession at the time being .

The main features of the project are as follows :

Annual in come due to electricity generated by the project is 42.5 million Dollars .

Annual in come due to the regulation of 3200 million m3/s water is 550 million dollars.

 

Geographical location:

 

40 km north- west of Ilam town valley  on Seymareh river.

 

Objectives and benefits of the project:

 

¯         Generating  annually 850 million KWH hydroelectric energy

¯         Controlling Seymareh river  floods

¯         Providing D/S  water – rights

¯         Approximately 40 million Dollars of annual income due to electricity

      generated by this project.

Diversion system:

U/S dike with the height of 33 m , D/S dike with the height of 12 m and two  diversion tunnels ,right tunnel with the length of 473 m and the diameter of 10.5 m, and left tunnel with the length of 397 m and the diameter of 8.3 m
Install capacity: 480 MW ( 3x160 MW)
